Aluglass Bautech is honoured to have designed, supplied and installed for The Wartenweiler Library, which is part of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.
The 6 Variflex® VX83 49dB acoustic partition systems for the library, each approximately 5500mm wide x 2500mm high, permit flexible room layouts and subdivides an area, while allowing privacy in each room. For ease of access into the individual areas when the partitions are locked into place, pass doors have been included in the design of 4 walls. When the complete space is needed, the individual top-hung elements are easily moved on an overhead track and positioned neatly to one side, as seen in the drawings below.
The specified finish is Kiaat natural wood veneer. As seen below, the grain runs in a vertical direction on the top part of each element and a horizontal direction on bottom part of each element.
