Combining the words ACOUSTICS, TRANSPARENCY AND FLEXIBILITY to describe a product are usually not meant for only one, but commonly, many different products. Aluglass Bautech’s Variflex® mobile acoustic GLASS partition, as seen at the Umhlanga Arch Mixed-Use Development – Umhlanga Ridgeside & Multiply Offices, is the perfect example, where all three words, describe the ONE SOLUTION.
ACOUSTICS: the specified Variflex® system has a 48dB acoustic rating. This enables meetings to be held concurrently next to each other once the individual elements are positioned and sealed into place with top and bottom retractable seals.
TRANSPARENCY: including glass in a Variflex® mobile acoustic partition system is perfect for creating impromptu spaces without ruining the flow of light in the venue.
FLEXIBILITY: the existing large area is divided into 2 or more smaller areas by this partition system. When the full-sized room is required, the top-hung individual elements are easily moved on an overhead track – requiring no floor tracks and positioned neatly into parking areas or crosswise against the wall.
In this project, over 15 meters of Variflex® mobile acoustic glass partitions were installed, while using 90 degree and T pieces to achieve the desired layout as per the architects’ design as seen below.
