Project: EWC College Tembisa Campus

Aluglass Bautech is proud to have designed, supplied and installed White Beech wood veneer acoustic absorption panels covering approximately 18 meters x 3.3 meters wall at the EWC College – Tembisa Campus.

82 individual laser cut white beech veneer panels were manufactured in order to reduce the reverberated sound is this large area, especially necessary when there are a large number of people present. Acoustical panels and baffles or acoustic absorption panels can successfully address the issues of reverberated sound and high frequency reverberation times.

What is sound?

Sound is produced by an object vibrating, which changes the air pressure, and this causes the air to create waves. Like water, sound waves will find the easiest path to penetrate any gap (also known as flanking path). The behaviour of sound depends on materials, temperature, and air humidity. In summary – Absorption Panels

• reduce unwanted reflections and echos,
• have a noise reduction coefficient (NRC’s) range from 0.5 to 0.85,
• acoustic panels can be fitted to either walls or ceilings and
• complements our range of acoustic products.
